New Medical Aesthetic Treatment for Scars: Alma Lasers iTED Presented at Leading Conference for Scar Treatment

New Medical Aesthetic Treatment for Scars: Alma Lasers iTED Presented at Leading Conference for Scar Treatment iTED, a new medical aesthetic procedure for the treatment of scars, stretch marks, and melasma, was presented at the prestigious Scar Club Meeting, held in Montpellier, France.

The Scar Club is a bi-annual conference that brings together the world’s leading plastic surgeons that specialize in treating scars, burns and reconstruction. Developed by Alma Lasers Ltd., (https://www.almalasers.nl), a leading developer and manufacturer of innovative aesthetic technologies for dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and medical aesthetic practitioners, iTED is an improved method of skin remodeling that combines the use of fractional ablation for deep micro-perforation of the skin, with special biomimetic peptide cosmeceuticals that are pushed into the micro-channels with IMPCAT ultrasound technology.

Professor Wei Liu, MD, PhD, a professor of plastic surgery at Shanghai’s Jiao Tong University School of Medicine is an internationally recognized expert in scar treatment who presented his iTED results at the Scar Club meeting. Using iTED, Professor Liu has treated dozens of patients over the past year for a wide range of scar types, including hypertrophic, atrophic and in particular, keloid scars. In his findings, Professor Liu showed how the scars, which are generally very difficult to treat due to their fibrous nature, were in most instances completely removed.

Professor Liu further noted how the combination of fractional ablation with the IMPACT module is a very safe procedure for Asian patients and other skin groups that are considered a high risk for post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.

Dr. Virginie Pons, a leading French plastic surgeon who participated in the Scar Club meeting has been using the iTED procedure on her patients over the past year for the treatment of stretch marks and skin rejuvenation. According to Dr. Pons, “iTED is the most comprehensive solution available today for stretch marks and skin rejuvenation.”

Dr. Ziv Karni, president and CEO of Alma Lasers, developed the iTED concept and IMPACT module. Dr. Karni said, “We were looking for the future of aesthetic medicine, and iTED is the future.

By themselves, the complex compounds found in topical creams are limited by the outer layer of the skin that prevents their absorption. Similarly, laser and other energy devices provide little thereapeutic effect to the damaged tissue. The combination of active ingredients and a method of delivery to the deeper layers of the skin is the future of aesthetic medicine.”

The iTED procedure has been proven safe for all skin types, providing the first combined technology solution for effectively improving difficult skin conditions. Treatment time is only a few minutes, and results in no downtime for the patient.

iTED be performed with four different Alma Lasers medical platforms which combine fractional ablation with the IMPACT ultrasound technology; Legato, Accent Ultra V, HarmonyXL and Pixel CO2.
