Pixel CO provides a complete, minimally-invasive solution for:

Technology

The Pixel CO system features advanced computerized precision CO laser technology for a variety of skin resurfacing applications. Using light energy emitted by a carbon dioxide laser, the Pixel CO laser penetrates the skin deep into the dermis through 10.6 µm thermal microchannels, creating targeted ablative and thermal effects while keeping the surrounding tissue intact. Laser energy is delivered to the target tissue through a holographic lens that pixelates the beam to 7, 49 or 81 microscopic beams or pixels in a variety of ablation patterns. These pixel-sized injury sites trigger a wound healing process that strengthens collagen and stimulates neo collagenesis, completely rejuvenating the target tissue.
Cut & Coagulate with Perfect Control
The CO laser is well-known for its versatility and safety benefits in medical aesthetic applications due to its limited depth of penetration and lateral thermal effect.
Harnessing these benefits for the treatment of delicate areas, Pixel CO combines cutting and coagulation into a single setting. The two modes work synergistically, allowing physicians to perform both actions without having to switch accessories during procedures.
In “cut” (ablation) mode, the pulse emits high peak power, causing immediate ablation of tissue up to the epidermis-dermis junction. In “coagulation” (thermal) mode, the pulse emits modest power, conducting heat beyond the epidermis-dermis junction, causing blood vessels and tissue to shrink.
This dual action pulse allows physicians to achieve optimal results with faster treatment times, minimal bleeding and reduced patient downtime.
IMPACT™
While the CO laser provides highly effective treatment for a variety of indications, combining this with the application of active topical ingredients serves to maintain and significantly augment results.
Alma’s IMPACT module offers a revolutionary skin barrier breakthrough solution that successfully delivers active ingredients beyond the epidermal–dermal junction. Once the skin is perforated via fractional CO, the Impact module emits acoustic waves and air pressure, pushing the topical compounds through the micro-channels. The acoustic vibrations create a push and pull effect within the channels, releasing the buildup of intra-cellular fluid and allowing the active ingredients to reach the targeted tissue depth. Histologies performed after the use of IMPACT technology have proven efficacy in advancing active ingredients to the deeper layers of the skin.
The synergy of fractional ablation and IMPACT technology offers a compound solution for maximally effective skin repair and aesthetic enhancement.
Smart, User-friendly interface
Pixel CO is designed with smart, user-friendly features and quick set-up capabilities. A touch screen LCD display provides step-by-step operating instructions and indicates correct accessories and scanning patterns for each treatment objective. The system optimizes procedures by offering pre-set operation and laser delivery parameters and allows users to configure custom parameters and patterns of injury (ablative vs. fractional ablative) for specific indications. These settings may also be saved for future procedures.

Handpieces and Delivery Systems

Pixel CO2 is the only CO2 laser that offers multiple treatment applications via a wide array of handpieces and scanners.

CO2 Scanner

Pixel CO Roller:

The Pixel roller is a manual applicator that is rolled across the skin, triggering a 70W laser pulse at a 7×1 laser ablation pattern upon movement of the wheel. Each pass consistently and accurately delivers a single row of 7 pixels per millimeter of distance. This 7 pixel configuration speeds up treatment time, concentrates laser power in a smaller area for deeper penetration and offers higher powered ablation for significantly enhanced results.

LiteScan:

LiteScan is the industry’s most advanced laser scanner, offering char-free fractional ablation in multiple
sizes and scanning patterns. It optimizes procedure efficiency by automatically setting the laser beam parameters required for each indication. LiteScan also offers full control of laser dwell time, shape patterns and power density at every point of the treatment area, maximizing physician control over patient outcome.

IMPACT:

The IMPACT module, in combination with the fractional ablative CO laser, facilitates delivery of topical ingredients beyond the epidermis where most scar tissue and other challenging skin imperfections form. It achieves successful trans-epidermal delivery which allows therapeutic ingredients to reach the targeted tissue depth where their regenerative properties can be most effective.
